Chris Kogler

Chris KoglerCo-founder of SDGCI, Chris was for many years president of the now defunct Gold Coast Development Association. He was involved in the initial establishment of PRP Valuers and Consultants Pty Ltd based at Bundall and a company associated globally with King Sturge.

For more than 20 years his wide range of valuation experience includes all aspects of real estate within metropolitan and regional Queensland as well as interstate. His real estate experience dates back to 1978 with the family ownership of Dolby and Rankine Real Estate in Surfers Paradise. He also owned and operated a Project Management Company specialising in retail, commercial, residential and educational projects.

Greg is the Managing Director of Bennett & Bennett Consulting Surveyors and Town Planners, which is a large consulting company having been established for more than 40 years in the Gold Coast region. Greg, a widely respected qualified Town Planner with 35 years experience in surveying and town planning, has resided on the Gold Coast for the last 28 years. His specialty lies in the establishment of complex titling schemes, subdivision design and planning advice to the development industry.

Greg Forgan-Smith

Greg graduated with a degree in architecture from UNSW in 1971. Widely travelled, he worked for seven years in PNG, Canada, USA and Europe before settling on the Gold Coast in 1980, working locally and starting his own company in 1986.  He has received several planning and architecture awards, has completed and is currently active on significant projects in China, India, New Zealand, PNG, Malaysia and within Australia.

His interests lie in urban design and the need to set the early framework to allow good design to emerge as a necessary outcome. Greg was president of the RAIA Gold Coast Region for five years and was instrumental in establishing the Council’s Urban Design Advisory Board in 1995 – the first in Queensland.

Martin Walsh

Geoff BurchillMartin is a senior consultant with body corporate managers Stewart Silver King and Burns (SSKB).  He holds vast experience in community title management with a strong knowledge of information systems relating to the strata and community titles industry. Martin brings qualifications to the Team through his Bachelor of Business and Cert IV in Property Operations.

He provides additional expertise to the specialist areas of administering building management statements, architectural review committees and design covenants whilst consulting on management rights and lot entitlement reviews. 


David Ransom

Geoff BurchillDavid draws from over 13 years experience as a town planner in his role as Director of Humphreys Reynolds Perkins Gold Coast. During this time David enjoyed seven years at the Gold Coast City Council in both strategic and statutory town planning capacities.

He was employed in a senior capacity within the council's Planning Environment and Transport Directorate, assessing a range of significant development applications within the southern part of the city. In private practice, he’s worked on a variety of residential, commercial and mixed-use development proposals ranging from greenfield subdivisions to large mixed-use tower developments. He is a member of the Planning Institute of Australia and is a committee member of the Urban Development Institute of Australia on the Gold Coast.


John Punch

John is an iconic name in the legal fraternity of Australia’s sixth largest city as a senior partner in the prominent law firm Short Punch & Greatorix. His firm has a history of over 50 years and is one of the largest on the Gold Coast.  He practices particularly in the area of real estate development and the management of strata schemes while providing pro bono his expert legal to SDGCI as a not-for-profit organisation. His contribution to tourism, real estate, commerce and charity was recognised In 1997 when awarded the Order of Australia Medal.
